NEW:Judge Rotenburg Center destroys incriminating videotapes 

 "Pull the Plug on JRC" is an event that will be held on January 20, 2008. It is partly a protest against the practices of the Judge Rotenburg Center, and partially a "public education" event.

But what exactly does the Judge Rotenburg Center do that you want to protest? you may ask

The Judge Rotenburg Center, or JRC uses a controversial type of "behavioral therapy" that centers primarily on the use of "aversives" to prevent "targeted behaviors" The aversives include spanks, muscle pinches, withholding of food, and electric shock provided by a device called a Graduated Electric Decelerator, or GED. Many feel that these adversives are unnecessary and inhumane. Our goal is for the Judge Rotenburg Center to cease using these treatments and adopt an effective, "traditional" model of special education.
